Lipizzaner breeders - In the region of Aix en Provence, by the banks of the Durance, the Philip brothers have formed, in twenty years, the largest French Lipizzaner horse breeding farm, with twenty-odd births per year. This race, with its immaculate white coat, had been selected by the Austro-Hungarian empire (notably in Lippica, hence their name), from Andalusian horses, which at the time were the "horses of kings" and all the European courts ; the Lipizzaners were a main part of the equestrian arts in the 18th century, and were at the prestigious Spanish School in Vienna, where they are the exclusive mounts.
