The Old Rose Circuit in Grignan

It's 25 years now that the association "Grignan, Pierres et Roses Anciennes" has been showing its passion for the village of Grignan. Created in 1991, the association can be proud of its quarter century of planting and beautifying.

Grignan is one of the botanical villages of the Drôme. All such villages adhere to a common charter requiring that a minimum of 150 varieties of plants be planted in the village to enhance and improve the living environment. This goes hand in hand with the development of tourist activities.

400 rose bushes have thus been carefully planted in the village; they adorn the old walls like a set of glimmering and romantic jewels.

Each variety is scrupulously labelled and explanatory sheets are available to the public at the Town Hall to help you follow the circuit and read the descriptions.

The circuit can also be done in the form of a guided tour.

Both old and new roses can be admired and the shapes, colours, fragrances and varieties are many and varied. To accompany these magnificent flowers, the association has also developed a collection of Mediterranean plants.

The association organises lectures, events and conferences on the theme of old roses, providing advice on the cultivation of rose bushes, garden maintenance and biodiversity.
