Jonquerettes

A village in the heart of the vineyards

The village of Jonquerettes is ideally located 8 kilometres from Avignon and near Isle sur la Sorgue, the Luberon, the Mont Ventoux and the Alpilles. It sits in the middle of the vineyards, most of which are mainly classed as AOC "Côtes du Rhône".

The village is clustered around the Saint-André church and the château. The château dates from the 14th century and is still inhabited.

The Saint-André parish church is of Romanesque origin; it was partly destroyed during the wars of religion then rebuilt with the stones and materials from its ruins.

A fountain was recently built in front of the little town hall.

The village is residential and highly-prized for its peace and quiet and its proximity to the great tourist sites. The area around Jonquerettes offers many hiking and mountain biking trails along the country lanes and across the vineyards.
