In the 1930's, Fernandel already famous, could not resist the sirens of Carry le Rouet.
Choosing Carry le Rouet for a vacation home, in 1939, Fernandel had a big house built to accommodate his family living in Marseille at the time.
This house still overlooks the port of Carry le Rouet.
Every year, Fernandel took up his summer quarters, went fishing on his boat "caméra", played pétanque and enjoyed a few pastis in the company of his friends.
Even 30 years after his death, Fernandel is still alive in the memory of the old, native Carryens.
His bust sits in front of the Fernandel Center.
