The oldest blanket-maker


Time has passed and the many waterwheels used to drive the mills that lined the banks of the Sorgue have been, one after the other, brought to a halt.

Natural colours, sober and classic materials with perfectly meticulous finishes : velvet trimmings, braids, fringes or scallops.

The Brun de Vian-Tiran factory, arising in 1808 from the affiliation of Laurent Vian and Charles Tiran who built a paradou on the embankment, has itself managed to carry on its activity. Today, it continues in accordance with ancestral traditions, transforming raw material into magnificent woolen fabrics, carded, spun, woven and dressed.

Today, it is one of the only factories in France to resiste the lure of imported and cheap modernity.

Thus, eight generations after Marie, Laurent Vian's granddaughter and heir to the Maison Vian-Tiran, married Emile Brun - he who, in 1886, rebaptized the enterprise "E.Brun de Vian Tiran" - they continue their journey towards other horizons, other innovations...
