The château of Suze la Rousse, a historic Monument, combines the animation created by the student and trainees, guided tours of this important tourist spot and spaces available for receptions, meetings and conferences.

Founded in 1978 on the initiative of wine-makers and with the help of all the national vinicultural organizations, the Wine University, in Provence, enjoys international renown thanks to a close collaboration between academics from many disciplines and professionals in wine and wine making. Using the setting of the departmental château of Suze-la-Rousse thus permits for an association of the historic monument and the animation created by the students and trainees.
A private establishment of higher education, the Wine University, in Provence, provides higher education specialized in sensorial analysis and tasting, law and regulations, defense of the appellations and knowledge and management of the terroirs. Theory and practical courses associate the discovery of grape varieties with wine tasting, cooking classes with a knowledge of the terroir. Everything has been thought out for the learning of taste, whatever the ends : pleasure or professional.

Since 1991, in the former stables, restored and baptized "Espace Médicis", the classrooms and sensorial analysis rooms complement the château's facilities. And so, the oenology and agronomy laboratories contribute, through their analyses and advice, to the quality of the wines made in the Rhône Valley.
Hence, the cultural year encompasses four workshops inspired by history, architecture and environment. Each of these encounters is accompanied by a central artistic axis : photography.
With its photography exhibitions, its conferences and its concerts, these events, baptized "Suze in the Four Seasons", are programmed in two of the halls on the first upper floor by the chateaus of the Drome. |
The Wine University, in Provence, offers facilities for businesses for seminars and conferences by opening up its meeting rooms and also regularly proposes cultural events based on the theme of wine.
Possibilities for business tourism or "Incentives", conventions, seminars with meals at the Château allow each year many companies to have meetings right in the heart of a vineyard.
