Château Mourgues du Grès in Provence, our wine selection
|
| |
Our white wines |
Les Galets Dorés : Mainly composed of Grenache Blanc, Vermentino and Roussanne grapes, this wine combines fruitness and freshness. Notes of citrus fruits are mingled with the aromas of white flowers and a touch of minerality.
Terre d'Argence : This « Vin de Pays du Gard » comes from a selection of the best, low-yielding terroirs, and is composed of Roussanne, Viognier and Grenache Blanc. Full and generous with lots of complexity, this is a very smooth wine, marked by notes of apricots.

Our rosé wines |
Fleur d’Églantine : This blend of Syrah, Grenache and Carignan grapes owes its name to its colour and to the freshness of its aromas (red berry fruits and pears).
Les Galets Rosés : This deeply-coloured rosé, made from Syrah and Grenache grapes using the saignée method, is a lovely match for fine food. It is full, fresh and fruity, with good aromatic length.
Capitelles des Mourgues : Mourvèdre grapes, fermented and aged in barriques, are blended with Syrah and Grenache to produce this wine which display fruity aromas mingled with notes of spice and vanilla.

Our red wines |
Les Galets Rouges : Syrah and Grenache are combined with Mourvèdre and Carignan to make this wine. It is dominated by aromas of red fruit, mild spices and liquorice, and supported by harmoniously integrated tannins.
Terre d’Argence : This is made from extremely well-exposed, low-yielding 40-year-old parcels. The Syrah grapes are joined by Grenache to give a very concentrated, mineral wine, evolving towards ripe fruit flavours and notes of the garrigue. The tannins are delicate and silky.
Terre de Feu : For this second edition for this vintage, we recognised the personality and the originality already felt in 2003 in our oldest grapevine of Grenache Noir. The Grenache is already very expressive and original with aromas of wild raspberry liqueur. We blended it with a touch of Syrah to perfect its balance.
Capitelles des Mourques : This blend is produced from old Syrah parcels, completed with Grenache, and aged for a year in oak barrels. The oak adds discreet hints of vanilla to this well-structured, heady wine marked by fruit and spices.
Tour de Béraud : Syrah, Grenache and Carignan are combined for a lighter wine for special occasions.
