The vineyard is planted on an eastern slope, at 250 metres altitude, in well-drained soil of calcareous scree. The grapevines of the Domaine de Tara are marked by their southern character and their remarkable aptitude to produce white wines.
On the total surface area of 11 hectares, the distribution of the vines is as follows :
- Red and rosé COTES DU VENTOUX WINE : Syrah 3.4 hectare, Grenache 1 hectare, Carignan 1 hectare.
- White COTES DU VENTOUX WINE : Roussanne 2.4 hectares, Grenache Blanc 2.3 hectares, Clairette 0.9 hectare.
The vines are planted 4000 per hectare, supported on a framework of stakes and planted with grass, so as to naturally limit the yield, which does not exceed 40 hectolitres/hectare. |
