The Cave de Lumières was created in 1925, and is established in the hamlet of Notre Dame de Lumières.
An important pilgrimage spot, the hamlet gets its name from the appearance of lights on the hillsides in the Middle Ages.
Writings also report of several miracles occurring during the pilgrimages.

The vineyards, with a surface area of 570 hectares, are situated to the south of the Ventoux appellation and to the southeast of the Rhône Valley wine-growing area. It covers the communes of Goult, Gordes, Roussillon, Joucas, St Pantaleon, Ménerbes, Murs.
The terroir is very varied : calcareous scree from the Monts du Vaucluse, sandy clay, even ochred, soil in the commune of Roussillon. |

The wines produced come from a blending of grape varieties vinified separately, from a selection of terroirs, from old vines and from different estates : Domaine Fontaube, Domaine Terrus and Château Thouramme.
Average yield is 28,000 hectoliters per year. Annual bottling is 240,000 bottles.
The red wines make up 47% of production.
The rosés wines make up 46% of production.
The white wines make up 7% of production. |

The heterogeneousness of the soil and the grape varieties provides for a wide choice out of the possible range of bouquets and aromas.
Since a few years ago, the young managing team, presided over by Bruno Mille, continues in its wish to make the Cave progress towards a quality recognized by all. They encourage their cooperative members to well care for their vines and bring to the cellar grapes of great purity. |
