After a course in wine growing in Hyères in the Var, she continued her studies in management in Paris but today admits the Seuil was already an integral part of her life. So it was completely natural that she would return to the estate to handle its commercial development. A warm and dynamic young woman, a veritable flood of good humour, with her infectious laugh, France Carreau Gaschereau has today taken over from her father with courage and determination as a young wine grower. She knows nearly every vine on the 55 hectares that cover the slopes of the Trèvaresse, this clayey, calcareous mountain from which one can see the Sainte Victoire mountain and the Mont Ventoux.
Talking with enthusiasm about hectare of Marsanne grafted on to Syrah, moved by the beauty of a parcel of Grenache proudly overlooking the Aix countryside.
"With every passing day, I am conscious of how lucky I am to do this work and to be able to continue to do it," she says. |
