In this retaurant in Cavaillon, eating at Jean-Jacques Prévôt’s table is a journey through the flavours of the heart of Provence.

His cuisine mingles flavours and aromas to create gourmet dishes in which all the ingredients combine and complement each other to the rhythm of the changing seasons.

The old melon warehouse dating back to 1866 at the town entrance was transformed into a delightful restaurant, in Cavaillon, in 1981. Known as the Maison du Melon, it features a little melon museum in tribute to the town’s famous fruit.

The delicate charm of Sylviane and Sandra Prévôt is visible in the elegant, subtly coloured décor of this restaurant in Cavaillon, which celebrates every aspect of an emblematic fruit/vegetable : the Cavaillon melon.

Everything in this restaurant in Cavaillon is designed to enchant you, starting with the warm welcome of Nicolas, our young and talented head waiter and sommelier. Within the enveloping comfort of the dining room, the setting for many culinary festivals, it is our pleasure to give you pleasure, with numerous little touches such as our excellent selection of digestifs.

Autumn brings a harvest of wild mushrooms, partridges, Sylviane’s soufflé pear tarts, candied chestnut Vacherin, and liqueurs infused with thyme and verbena.

Jean-Jacques PrévôtIn French gastronomy circles, Jean-Jacques Prévôt needs no introduction. He has made a name for himself as a chef and artist, melon ambassadeur, member of the Disciples of Auguste Escoffier and of the Culinary Academy of Provence and Chevalier of the Melon Brotherhood. He was born in Cannes, one day in the last half of the 20th C and grew up in the kitchen of his parents' restaurant, among the pots and pans and various delicious smells emanating from them...

, in this restaurant in Cavaillon, it is the time for delicate and aromatic scallops, as well as black truffles from the Luberon, jugged hare and candied melons for Christmas.

When spring returns, Cavaillon asparagus appears on the menu, along with crisp young peas, fruity, creamy goat cheeses, baby lamb and Easter chocolate. Our chef and owner Jean Jacques brings back exotic spices from his gourmet adventures abroad.

Summer is the season for a burst of colours and tastes fresh from the market : fragrant strawberries, espalier peaches gorged with sugar, fish straight from the Mediterranean, olive oil and a whole multitude of delicious herbs. Let us not forget the famous Cavaillon melons, with their luscious, fragrant flesh that reaches golden ripeness in the sun. Under the magic wand of our talented chef, they are transformed into moments of honeyed bliss.
