Up
and over the Luberon |
Dawn in the Luberon
|
Another baloon is playing hide-and-seek
with us above the Luberon, between
the village and the pine forest facing
it.

 |
Here, Nature has taken on the colors
of ochre. First of all, the quarries
offer a gradation of yellow, orange
and reddish-brown. Then, the farmers
have prepared their land for its winter
rest. The shadow of the baloon caresses
the voluptuously ploughed fields, to
move on to an army of cherry trees
softly shaking their clusters of autumnal
orange leaves as they're kissed by
the easterly wind.
|
Towards the east, we can glimpse the
Mont Ventoux and villages of Rustrel
and Saint-Saturnin d'Apt. We are now
climbing at 4 metres per second. Jacques
knows the Luberon, its places and people. "Ten
years ago, we could still catch sight
of deer and wild boars, now, they make
themselves scarce!". These dyas
there is another sort of style. In
Lacoste, you can still admire the Marquis
de Sade's château, but also the
properties of famous actors and producers,
political figures,who have all besieged
this small patch of the Luberon, seasonal
decentralisation, of course! It's incredible
what you observe from above! This morning
it's an English lady whom the aeronaute
knows well and who waves to us from
her garden, still in her night gown
and wearing a nightcap with a pink
pompom.
