Dauphiné Provence in Sahune |
Bistro and restaurant in Provence
|
Like in all the local bistros, at lunchtime, nostrils start to quiver and mouths start to water…
because these places fill with the scents of fried aubergines, cooked tomates, red mullet filets in olive oil or braised pork. All cultivate with relish the art of eating well - and drinking well !
"We've been café owners for three generations," explains Claude Aumage, who with Josette, his spouse, owns the Dauphiné Provence in Sahune, "and we use a maximum of local products. We are in a region fond of food, might as well take advantage of it !" At the bottom of a valley, at the beginning of the gorges of the Eygues, Sahune has almost the air of a small city with its business street and constant activity. The bistro and restaurant the "Dauphiné Provence", at the centre of this business street, brings together food lovers, chatterboxes, and also fans of the local soccer team, who meet here to commentate on the matches, all in a very convivial ambiance.
