The largest number of cultivated lavender fields is in the department of the Alpes de Haute Provence : more than 10,000 hectares, or 30% of the national total. The Valensole plateau is the main area of lavender production.

Parc Rural de Haute Provence

August 4 to 8 - Corso de la Lavande in Digne les Bains
Every first weekend in August, it's a pure party for 5 days and 5 nights, with fireworks, balls, concerts, performances and one of the most beautiful fun afirs in France ! And you certainly must not miss the float parade on Sunday afternoon and Monday evening : majorettes and musiciand from all over Europe and regional folklore groups participate with their lavender decorated and scented floats... |
