The Christmas Market brings together fifty-odd craftspeople and sellers, who set up on the Place de l'Horloge in small wooden chalets. Here you will find many gift ideas, but also objects to decorate your nativity scenes and decorate the festive holiday table. At the same time you can visit the giant nativity scene at the town hall, created by Mr. Fouque, master santon maker from the Aix region, presenting with its 500 figures the life and crafts of a village of the past, in Provence.
To also see : in the chapel of the Palais du Roure, a nativity scene in a décor of scrubland and hills, where thirty-odd clay santons (made by Mr. Henri Bayle) evoke a Christmas scene in a village where, for the occasion, the traditional Calendale table is set with its thirteen desserts.
On the Place Pie, where the ice-skating rink is located, you can go shopping in Les Halles, a covered market where you will find all the fresh and regional produce to make your holiday meals : seasonal vegetables, truffles, fish and shellfish, but also the treats that make up the 13 desserts : dried and candied fruits, nougats, chocolates, sweet and savoury foccacio, everything to satisfy all gourmets. |
