HOLIDAY IDEAS :

The gorges of Verdon

The canyon of the Alpes de Haute Provence

FROM THE LIGHT TO SHADOWS

An upside down mountain, the big canyon of the Verdon has always intimidated.

Only the intrepid gatherers of boxwood roped themselves together to adventure into the green darkness between the two high cliff faces that can be discovered from the belvederes, some perching 700 meters above the river.

Today, the climbers have followed the gatherers, and hikers take to the trails opened in 1905 by Isidore Blanc and Edouard-Alfred Martel to reach the river tamed by the dams.

Above, in the sunlight, under the majestic gliding of the vultures reintroduced into the region, the 7 villages of the gorges are the guardians of this great listed stony monument.

From their observation points, with the necessary distance, the images are the most beautiful.

Between their walls, their secrets are shared, from one museum to another.

And with the accompanying guides, the most amazing encounters can be made, with the minerals and the vegetation, with history and heritage.
