The Mont Ventoux in Provence

Mont Ventoux in winter
Skying at the Mont Ventoux
It is one of the oldest ski stations in France, where one has been skiing since the 1930s.
On the northern side of the Mont Ventoux, harsh and alpine-like, you will find very steep areas, where the altitude can drop by 1500 metres within just 3 kilometres.
It's on this slope, with its many coombs, that you will find the Mont Serein and its ski station at 1400-1800 metres, snow-covered during winter, accessible from Malaucène located in the Haut Vaucluse.

Precautions to take before setting off on the ascent of the Mont Ventoux :
Do not climb when the summit is in the clouds; the best, anyway, is to choose a clear day, because the unobstructed views are fantastic.
You also should think about the changes in temperature; with the wind, it can become very cold.
Remember to take warm clothing and wind-breakers
