- Aix en Provence, Marseille and the Calanques (cliffs over the Mediterranean).

To the West :
- Villeneuve les Avignon, accross the Rhone, which was the town of residence for many cardinals.
- The Pont du Gard aqueduct and Roman city of Nimes.
- The duchy of Uzes and the Cevennes.

To the North :
- The Dentelles de Montmirail for rock climbing.
- The wine road, taking you through the beautiful villages of Vacqueyras, Gigondas, Beaumes de Venise, Sablet, Seguret, Ste Cecile les Vignes...
- The Mont Ventoux, called "the Glant of provence", which brings glory or disappoint to many a cyclists venturing its steep slopes.
- The magnificient vineyards of Chateauneuf du Pape, where you can stop for winetasting in one of the "caves".
- Orange and its famous Roman Theater, which hosts the Choregies (Lyric festival) in summer.
- Vaison la Romaine, Valreas and the Popes Enclave, land of the "black diamond", the truffle.
- Carpentras, capital of the Venaissin country, famous for its colorful sweet, the berlingot, as well as its famous truffle market on Fridays (in winter), and also the oldest, most well-preserved Synagogue (1307) in France, attracts visitors from around the world.

To the East :
- Isle sur la Sorgue, its antique markets and fairs.
- Fontaine de Vaucluse, where the spirits of Petrarque and Laura still roam.
- Gordes, atop a cliff, one of the most beautiful villages in France.
- The Abbey of Senanque in the hollow of a valley.
- The ochres quarries of Roussillon (the Provencal colorado).
- The hilltop villages of Menerbes, Oppede, Bonnieux and Lacoste, with the ruins of the marquis de Sade chateau.
- Apt, the capital of candled fruit.
- The Chateau of Ansouis and Lourmarin.
