Architecture and functioning of "Moulin de Maître Cornille" before its dismantling in the XIXth century. As the joint documents show, the construction and use of a windmill require an advanced technology and a savant practice.

The miller, sometimes named "the sailor of lands" needed a deep knowledge of the winds, the solidity of the materials, the use of the veils and of diverse parameters that, unless they were considered, could not only risk the breaking of the wings and other parts but also the accident.
Note that the whole top ("hat") and the wings pivot, answering to the miller and the winds.
