Salinger and her son Emmanuel de Menthon take pride in welcoming
their guests as personal friends. This traditional
provencal house is an ideal retreat for music & theater
lovers as well as antique enthusiasts, blending perfectly culture
and nature.
Nestled between the Luberon and Les Alpilles, 20 minutes from the city of Avignon
and 5 minutes from l'Isle Sur La Sorgue, the very simple XVIIth century Bastide
welcomes you with 5 bedrooms and 2 suites. A most romantic 2 bedroom-cottage
with living-room and fireplace is also available on the grounds. |

The Grounds are located in a curve of the river Sorgues in
the middle of agricultural fields. The house is bordered by a canal
which then passes under an XVIIIth century paper-mill building.

The Bastide Rose is ideally situated in the heart of Provence, a region rich in history and stories, culture and art: Avignon, the Popes’ Palace, the villages of the Luberon and the Alpilles, the nature to be discovered on foot or bicycle, the Regional Park of the Luberon, the majestic Mont Ventoux, the Roman sites. A land of history, but also with a very lively contemporary culture with festivals as numerous as they are diverse. And don’t forget the wine-growing.
The Theatre Festival takes place in Avignon every year in the month of July.

Upon reserving, Emmanuel offers you a spontaneous, fresh and authentic cuisine. Served at the shared table or small tables (according to your wishes) in the winter garden or on the terraces, the “daily discoveries” from the local farmers’ market are accompanied by a nice choice of local, national and organic wines: Chateauneuf-du-Pape, Gigondas, Vacqueyras... without forgetting the nice little wines from the Luberon and the Mont Ventoux |
