Tourism
The region offers beautiful hikes and walks on the Luberon mountain, in the Cedar forest, along the Gorges of the Régalon. Magnificent landscapes and hilltop villages like Bonnieux, Gordes.
You must also visit Roussillon and its ochre cliffs.
Not far away you will find Avignon and its Popes' Palace, Aix-en-Provence, the Beauty of the South and birthplace of Paul Cézanne, with it chic boutiques and shaded outdoor cafes.
There is also Arles, the Roman city, with its amphitheatre and gothic cathedral, and where everything speaks of Vincent Van Gogh.
You can easily visit Isle-sur-la-Sorgue and its antique market known the world round, or even the vineyards of the Côtes-du-Rhône : Gigondas and Châteauneuf-du-Pape.
Finally, there's the Camargue, a wild landscape of sea marshes, rice paddies and reeds, with its herds of black bulls and white horses, and above all, its bird life, unique in Europe. |
