The Theme

The most important event on the Riviera in winter, for its 128th year, the theme of the Carnival of Nice will be "King of Sport", From February 17 to March 4, 2012

The theme  for 2012 will be « King of Sport »a reference to the 2012 London Olympics as well as to the sporting dynamism of Nice, France and on a wider scale the planet. The theme is very universal and unifying and will pay tribute throughout the parades to all the competions of the coming year !

From a simple disguise to plastic surgery, from manipulation to celebrity press & the Carnival is no longer the only realm of fancy dress and device in all its forms, represented in a modern and outrageous fantasy...

All the Carnival parades will be located on the new place Massena and around the garden Albert 1st and the Flower parades will take place along the Promenade des Anglais or sea-front and will feature numerous innovations ...
