The carnival takes its inspiration from themes that are often traditional. It is the world of fantasy, parading mythic and symbolic characters, while still keeping in touch with current events.


The Carnival King accompanies the 1st parade, and closes the last by parading alone, escorted by his "executioners". He will be set on fire, according to tradition, on the day of Mardi Gras, on a pyre set up on the beach. The festival ends with a magnificent fireworks display over the Baie des Anges.
