The Hôtel d'Astier de Montfaucon, built in the 17th and 18th centuries, has belonged to the mayor’s office of Ménerbes since 1751. It was the town’s hospice during the 19th century and the boys'school until 1953. In a dilapidated state, it was partially occupied by local clubs until 1995. That year, the building was added to the Historic Monuments supplementary list and rehabilitated.
This site is open to the public since May 29, 2004 during a retrospective exhibition of the works by the painter Joe Downing. As well as welcoming exhibitions of this type, the Maison de la Truffe et du Vin du Luberon is a knowledge center of the world of the truffle and of wine in the greater Southeast.
