This private collection, built up by the museum's founder, Christian Levett, a lover of ancient art, presents more than 700 exceptional archaeological, classical, modern and contemporary objects.
Rather than offering a chronological journey in time, the museographical concept showcases the influence of the civilisations of Egypt, Rome and greece and their interaction.
Throughout the tour, remarkable pieces can be seen: Greco-Italian urns, colossal statues, hundreds of drawings, paintings and sculptures by renowned artists such as Paul Cézanne, Marc Chagall, Henri Matisse, Pablo Picasso, Michel-Martin Drolling, Antony Gormley, Damien Hirst, Marc Quinn and many others...
The tour covers 4 stories: the crypt in the basement is devoted to Egypt, the ground floor and first floor to Ancient Rome and Greece, the world.
