The Maeght Foundation

The Maeght Foundation, which celebrated its 50 years in 2014, is a museum of modern art located in Saint Paul de Vence.
Founded in 1964 by Marguerite and Aimé Maeght (a Parisian art dealer and good friend of  Matisse), the Foundation is housed in a resolutely contemporary architectural ensemble. It presents paintings, sculptures, collages, ceramics – in short, all sorts of modern and contemporary art – as much in its exhibition space as in its park, with the Giacometti courtyard, the Miro Labyrinth, mosaics, a pond, an animated fountain as well as a chapel and a library.
Its permanent collection (one of the largest of 20th century art) includes works by Bonnard, Braque, Calder, Chagall, Giacometti, Léger and Miro. In addition, every year the Maeght Foundation organises temporary exhibitions: Gérard Garouste in 2015, Bernard Henri-Levi in 2013, Giacometti in 2010...
