The Lavender Museum in Coustellet

In Coustellet in the heart of the Luberon, the Lavender Museum plunges you into the world of what's known as true lavender, from the harvest through its distillation to its utilisation in pharmacy products and perfumes.

Georges Lincelé, the museum's founder, is himself a cultivator and distiller of lavender, a family tradition passed from father to son for more than 5 generations.

Over the course of the last twenty years, he has gathered together a magnificent collection of stills from the 16th century to today.

The museum, an extension of the family-run lavender farm, is housed in a traditional mas and welcomes more than 50,000 visitors for a lively and entertaining tour.

In a big, 64-seat projection room, 2 documentaries show you all the steps in the cultivation of  lavender, from the planting to the distilling. An audio guide in 10 languages as well as guided tours ensure you get the most out of your visit, whether you are alone or with a group.

In the museum shop and also on-line through their website, you can discover the “Château du Bois" range of products developed by Jack and Sophie Lincelé and which come directly from their production: wellness products and natural cosmetics made with the essential oil of this English lavender, air fresheners, infusions and teas... Enchanting fragrances that will remind you of Provence each time you use them.
