Exhibition "Homo Planta - The Vegetal Man"
07 June to 30 September 2018
Art as a means of achieving a more equitable and beautiful world. That is how the Blachère Foundation sees its vocation.
Having made the deliberated choice of focussing on contemporary African art, the Foundation opened its art centre in 2004, on its company's premises right in the industrial park of Apt in the Vaucluse.
The centre presents exhibitions and houses artists in residence; it participates in the big African biennales and also organises creative workshops.
Its objective: a harmonious and sustainable development for Africa, of which the driving force is culture.
It is not just a question of making the artists and their creations known. The Blachère Foundation also works to guarantee the sale of their works and help them establish themselves in the international market under fair and equitable conditions.

With this goal in mind, the centre also has
the Boutik, a shop that offers jewellery, textiles, furnishings and decorative objects in a spirit of fair trade,
a resource centre for researchers as well as for the curious, with a library and bookshop where you find works on the history and evolution of African art and society, artist monographs and catalogues of the exhibitions, for sale or to be consulted,
finally, after filling your mind you can fill your stomach: “La p’tite cuisine” offers lunch in its colourful tearoom with African furnishings or on the terrace, as well as flavourful dishes to take away.
