In the heart of Provence, 30 minutes from Aix-en- Provence, 40 minutes from Avignon and 10 minutes from Lourmarin, a top destination in the Luberon, the Domaine de Fontenille figures among the rare Provençal properties that have kept their original aspect.
Classical architecture characterizes this country manor; cedars and hundred-year-old sycamores shelter its landscaped park. All around it, as far as the eye can see, lie vineyards and unspoiled countryside, the Luberon and the Sainte-Victoire mountain.
The park made up of several gardens invites you to escape for a couple of hours of reading. You can jog along the vineyard trail before going to relax in the steam room or finish the day with a few laps in the 20-metre swimming pool.
The gourmet restaurant, Le Champ des Lunes, and the bistro, La Cuisine d’Amelie, are managed by the Michelin-starred chef Jerôme Faure who offers you a resolutely modern and spontaneous cuisine based on the land.
Here, the eras mingles; family portraits and antique busts can be seen next to works of contemporary art. Heir to a French-style Art of Living, elegant and simple, the Domaine de Fontenille takes you on a journey out of time.
