Uzès, in the Gard, at the gates of Provence

Situated amidst the Garrigues at the crossroads of the Cévennes, Provence and Languedoc regions, the village of BARON, dominated by the ruins of the Château de l'Arques, a long ago reminder of the Saracen occupation, reveals itself as a veritable "land of milk and honey", with gentle hills covered in holm oaks, fig trees and olive trees, slopes planted with grapevines, panoramic plains and exceptional views over the whole valley, all the way to the duchy of Uzès.
