by road:
From the North , take the motorway
Lyon => Marseille ( A 7 / E 15 )
-at Orange follow motorway A 9 / E 15
- exit Number 23 : REMOULINS
- then direction ALES – UZES ( road D 981 )
- 4 km before UZES you take the road on the right
sign-posted to SAINT MAXIMIN – SAINT SIFFRET

by air:
Ryanair from Stansted into Nîmes airport

by rail:
From May to September the TGV runs
directly from London Waterloo and Ashford International non-stop to Avignon or Nîmes.


Tourism in Provence and around the Pont du Gard and Uzès

The region of Uzès and the Pont du Gard offers a range of cultural and sports activities or is just perfect for some serious relaxing.
Visit the historical centre of Uzès and discover the magnificent panorama of the surrounding countryside from the duke's castle dominating the town.

Many sites and famous monuments:
The pont du Gard (10 minutes): roman aqueduct, Gardon valley (rambling, canoeing and swimming in the river), medieval village of Castillon du Gard.
Uzès at 5 kms : Duchy Palace, Saint Théodorit Cathedral, Fenestrelle bell tower, Saturday Provençal market, Haribo Museum of Sweets, Golf (9 holes).
Nîmes at 30 kms : the Amphitheatre (les Arènes) and the Square House
les Jardins de la Fontaine, Museum of Old Nîmes, Bullfighting Museum, Archeological Museum, Street festivals and bullfighting.
Anduze at 50 kms : Potteries creating the famous Anduze vases, the Bambouseraie, the only forest of bamboo in Europe, the little steam train of Cévennes.
Avignon at 40 kms : Popes' Palace, Avignon Bridge (remember the well-known song "Sur le Pont d'Avignon"), Avignon Theatre Festival in July (theatre, dance and music), museums.
and at 45 mn : Arles, Saint Rémy de Provence, les Baux de Provence

There are a number of departure points for hikes and leisurely strolls in the Eure Valley and along the Roman aqueduct to the Pont du Gard.
Enjoy yourself at one of the many music, story-telling and theatre festivals in Uzès and the outskirts : the Uzès "Musical Nights" Festival in July, the New Dance Festival in June, the World Music Festival in the Uzège villages in August, the Avignon Theatre Festival in July, etc. And don't forget to go for a dip or canoeing in the Gorges of the Gardon River, a truly refreshing paradise in summer.
