Tourism in Graveson
Graveson is the welcoming village of the Demeure Toscane. It's a quiet
village that lives to its owm rythm, that of cicadas singing, lavender,
the southern accent, the olives and, above all, the blue sky.
At the foot of the Montagnette, between Arles, Saint Rémy de Provence and
Avignon, this rich village of 3215 habitants comes to life on a plain or
opulent and well -ordered farms.
Graveson is very attached to its culture (painting, santons...) , its traditions
(Saint Eloi, Corso...) and its heritage. Le Cours is the heart of the village
where the murmuring of the of the Roubine only helps you better appreciate
the surrounding peace.
The regional Auguste Chabaud museum is entirely devoted to the works of
the Fauve paintee. The Aromas Museum, as to that, will awaken your sense
of smell. Graveson is also lucky to have in its bosom the Prémontrés'
Candleworks where liturgical, and less orthodox, candles are hand-crafted.
It's also a village where it's just nice to live, with its Sycamores, its
garden of the 4 Seasons, the fig trees at the Mas de Luquet, its flowering
spaces and its Farmers' markets where only quality produce from the region
can be found.
Tourism in the surrounding areas
Provence is a paradise of light, in the paths between the Alpilles and
the Montagnette. Provence has always kown how to preserve its image and
people come from far away to visit.
Filled with festivals celebrating the glory of the earth and craftsmanship, it
will lead you through a colourful parade. Provençal conviviality also
expresses itself in daily life. Here, we take the time to wander the streets
or relax in the shade of a Sycamore in all tranquility... The time for living !
Hills covered in almond and olive trees, pines and cypress, giving off all sorts
of Meditieranean fragrances. Thyme and rosemary submerge you in a bath of scents
that become savours on the stalls of the Provençal markets. There you
will find the herbs that are the secret of Provençal cooking, and the
fruits and vegetables which make it so colourful.
The main towns of the Val de Provence (the valley of light) are Avignon,
city of art and city of the Popes, Arles and its arena, Saint Rémy
de Provence and Nostradamus' house, and also Fontvieille where you sill find
Alphonse Daudet's windmill, Tarascon, the city of Provençal fabric.
And Provence would not be what she is if we forget to mention Baux de Provence,
a small hilltop village perched on a real bauxite mountain.
