The Castle of Vedène is located on top of this lovely village of Provence, dominating it with its two medieval towers. The castle and its first tower has been erected in 1109 by the Renouard Family . It then belonged to several others families, among them the famous De Sade.

A second tower came soon to enlarge the property.

As soon as 1352, the Gallean family got the ownership of the whole castle and kept it until the French Revolution. The Gallean family came along from Italy following the Pope Court when the King Philippe le Bel decided Clement V should have His residence in Avignon. The Gallean family remained settled in Provence even after the Popes had returned to Rome. They were named barons of Vedène and Duke of Gadagne.

Throughout the 19th and 20th century the castle knew many a landlord until the Gaillard family bought it in 1969. Robert, their son has become the heir of this historical mansion. As soon as 2001 he undertook important works to modernize the place outside and inside the castle. In 2010 the first chambres d'hôtes are ready to open in a very unexpected, charming and cosy surrounding ,matching modernity and past centuries.
