Leisure Activities
7 kilometres from Ruoms and Vallon Pont d'Arc,
St Alban - Auriolles is located at the confluence of 3 rivers -
the Ardèche, the Beaume and the Chassezac. You can wander
through this small, medieval village and discover 2 types of landscape:
the traditional Garrigue scrubland (a feature of the southern Ardèche)
and the farmland (vineyards, orchards, etc.).
By vacationing in St Alban-Auriolles, you will
encounter a rich history. Stroll the streets of the old village
and you will see its Château that dates from the 15th century.
(Château des Beaumefort).
If you are a bit more courageous, on foot, bike or even horseback,
you can take a former Stations of the Cross path which leads to
a three hundred year old chapel (Saint Pierre des Liens) and even
to one of the somptuous Dolmens that haunt the region
Finally, visiting
the Alphonse Daudet Museum or the Mas de la Vignasse, you will discover
rural life in the last century.
Of course, the attractions of the surrounding villages will seduce
you with their varied and diverse activities.
You will be seduced by all the facets rich in culture and customs
but also by the tranquility of this village where the locals still
take the time to play the traditional "boules" on the
village square, in the shade of the sycamore, lulled by the singing
of the cicadas.
