In Provence, travel in Uzès and in the arounds

The Mas d'Oléandre is situated in the Gard, the land of impenetrable scrubland, pretty fortified towns and many ruins, also beautiful vineyards producing excellent wines, and of course, the famous Roman aqueduct, the Pont du Gard. In Provence, travel in the Roman cities of Nîmes, Arles, Uzès... In Provence, travel in Avignon : discover its famous Theatre Festival and its imposing Popes' Palace merit a visit. To the North of the Gard, the Cévennes National Park awaits you, with its impressive gorges and rivers. In Provence, travel in the Camargue where you will find rice paddies and salt marshes, and also wild horses, bulls and the famous pink flamingoes.

A pretty, historic town to the north of Nîmes, situated in the center of a beautiful hilly region, Uzès imposes itself by it magnificently restored architectural marvels. Main sites : The Fénestrelle tower, the romanesque cathedral Saint Théodorit, the Duchy and, of course, the main square, the Place aux Herbes...

The whole year round you are at the right place for sports activities or visiting festivals or museums. Splendid walks are possible in our direct neighbourhood, among other places in the Garrigues ; in the Cévennes National park or in the Val d'Eure around Uzès. A mountain bike tour in the Garrigue is also very recommendable.
