The Hérault, the Vis, the Gardons (Gardon de St-Jean and the Gardon de Mialet, of which the two join to form the Gardon d'Anduze, in France ) offer many possibilities for bathing in clear, running waters.
Canoeing & Kayaking on the Hérault
The Hérault is a small river 150 km long that has its source in the Aigoual. From Ganges down, it is negotiable in a canoe or kayak.
Horseback riding and mountain biking
Paths, forest trails, small roads, sheep migration routes offer magnificent circuits in the vallies and foothills of the Cévennes, full of chestnut trees, holm oaks and conifers.
Skiing on the Mont Aigoual
Prat-Peyrot is a young, mid-mountain ski station (1440 metres altitude), in the central zone of the Cévennes national park and four kilometres from the Aigoual Observatory. The station has fourteen downhill skiing slopes and sixty kilometres of packed down and marked cross-country skiing trails.
